About Me

Originally from Germany, I have lived and worked across the UK; in Doha, Qatar; Muscat, Oman; Dubai, UAE; Melbourne, Australia, and Paris, France. In some counties even more than once.

It probably doesn't come as a big surprise that due to my somewhat nomadic nature I specialize in writing about travel and the expatriate life style, but I will also tackle subjects such as science (I am a marine biologist by education), lifestyle, and yes, even gardening.

My bylines include international publications such as BBC Travel, TIME, Nat Geo, Lonely Planet, The Independent, Conde Nast Traveler, Fodor's, The Telegraph, Architectural Digest, Subaru Drive, Discover, Adventure, World Nomads, Marriott Bonvoy Traveler and many more.

My book Moon Living Abroad in Australia is a guide for would-like-to-be-expats considering a move to Australia, and my travel guides to Sydney & the Great Barrier Reef, and Spotlight Sydney, also for Moon travel books, are for those eyeing up a shorter visit to the country.

Apart from writing, I also translate mostly travel articles from English to German and vice versa for clients such as Marriott Bonvoy Traveler.
